Dragon Soul Travelling The Great Above

Ever since I was much younger, I have always been fascinated by outer space. The seemingly illimitable vastness of what we call "The Universe" and the endless stream of possibilities held within and without have always intrigued me. There is so much to think about when it comes to outer space and I never get sick of it. Whether my thoughts enter black holes, follow comets along their immense orbital trails or even just sitting still in the deepest quadrant of the coldest and emptiest region of the cosmos, I always derive a flood of calm and awe mixed together.

Whenever I have a personal encounter with The Great Above, I always feel a sense of connectedness with everything that is so insanely distant. It is this distance, between myself and everything out there, that whispers amazement and worship into my inner flame. My experience from this morning was one of those moments where I just have to bask in the beauty and perfection of the cosmic realm.

I had set my alarm clock to go off at 4:55AM - my usual start time for any given work-day. Interestingly enough and for some perfectly grand reason, this little, machine-friend of mine decided to go off ten minutes later than I had set him for. He had never done this before and yet I did not find his behaviour odd in the slightest. I simply didn't question it. Why would I? I'm the kind of person to let my friends/helpers be who they are and do what they need to when they need to.

Anyway...I got up, took a piss, gathered my lunch, coat, etc and headed out the door. Today I didn't bother warming up the Jeep for a little bit before leaving - which I normally do in cold weather like this. I glanced at Moon before getting into my vehicle and then started off on my way to work.

About ten minutes into my drive, I came to a slightly wooded area that I always drive through on my way to the farm. My focus was suddenly disturbed. My vision whipped up and locked onto a Meteor or "shooting star" brimming Earth's atmosphere. I knew right away that this was unlike any other meteor that I had ever seen skidding across the planet's barrier.

My eyes soaked up every detail of this divine moment. The teal trail that the Meteor left behind was the first thing I registered. Then I noticed the standard, white-coloured head which began dropping yellow sparks just before vanishing from sight - to once more hurl through the vastness of space with mind-boggling speed. The angle of entry was straight across (from right to left) with a very slight curve. I could feel the height where this event had just transpired. It was like sitting up in the shadows to watch a being slice through an invisible shield and become engulfed in flames for a very brief period of time.

This, of course, brought my thoughts to where the Meteor had come from and where he was now heading to. A familiar vibration merging with my mind for a split instant before moving onward with his great quest through the still, cold silence. Within that moment, I received shared information, knowledge and blessings. Meteor Flame-luck of a traveller now dwelling within my energetic core. Reserved for a needed moment within my own life.

Then my thoughts turned to how all the actions of my life had brought me to that particular point in "space" and "time" - the systematic perfection that placed me there to witness such a sight and how he too, the Meteor, had been travelling for eons upon eons to reveal himself to me for that period of two seconds...

I am simply astounded and need not say more...

  1. Yet again, your writing has provided such a vivid imagine inside one's mind. Sounds like the experience was something to relish in for time to come - and provoke envy from those who were not meant to witness such a thing.

  2. I like seeing you follow up a mundane moment with a beautiful soliloquy and finally, an illuminating personal revelation.
